East Coast Chant is a divinely-inspired contemporary tapestry of music, sound, chants, guided imagery and planetary service woven together with threads of Light by everyone present. It’s an uplifting, transforming, expressive and participatory experience for everyone. "Nectar for the Soul!"

East Coast Chant builds on the powerful foundations of traditional chants from world cultures to create a contemporary experience that embodies both established and emerging spiritual, metaphysical and scientific knowledge, practices and wisdom for this new millennium.

East Coast Chant
offers tidbits of wisdom and opportunities for personal healing from the inside out. You choose what you wish to experience.

East Coast Chant is an opportunity for world service. As a group we remain awake and aware of our oneness in the Source of All There Is as we create a powerful energy field that we consciously use to send out waves of intentional energy and Light to heal ourselves, our loved ones, and the planet.
Why the name East Coast Chant?

East
Coast refers to the East Coast of the United States, though it could also represent the east coast of any continent. I chose ‘East Coast’ because I’ve lived in and around Boston Massachusetts my whole life so far, and this is where the concept was created.

The Sun rises in the east, the ocean is a powerful force of nature and life, so East Coast conveys images of new life and beginnings, and a force that is powerful, encompassing, fiery and central to life. In this musical context, East Coast also conveys a cool jazz, contemporary sound that hopefully conveys the unplanned, improvisational nature of some of what happens.

I chose the word
Chant rather than Music or Sound or Kirtan, or the name of a specific musical genre, because it isn't just one style of music and the audience isn't just listening. I invite people to experience the unifying power and healing force of sacred sounds, syllables and intentions when heard, sung, spoken or danced together in a group.

East
Coast Chant invites you to have both an intimate journey with your own spiritual nature and an entertaining experience you can enjoy and lose yourself in for awhile.

Tonia (tone-ya) Pinheiro created East Coast Chant in May 2008. She is a multi-talented performer and a conglomerate of cultural and spiritual legacies and traditions so almost everything she does has many facets. Some refer to this kind of person as a Renaissance Soul. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts and her creative work is influenced by her Cherokee, African, East Indian, Irish, and German ancestors. She is a vehicle and vessel for the expression of her Soul’s lineage, and her Soul’s mission which placed her on the Ascension Path in her youth. In addition to the influences of her genetic lineage, she sometimes expresses the cultural and spiritual traditions of other physical incarnations she has had in North Africa, the Middle East, Japan, Tibet, South America, and the South Pacific (to name a few). She has agreed to express all of who she is as a human and spiritual being in service to humanity and the planet and invites you to join her.
